i.safe MOBILE introduces Remote Speaker Microphones (RSM) for Zone 1/21 with powerful audio performance
Lauda-Koenigshofen/Cologne, 26 November 2024. i.safe MOBILE is presenting the RSM for Ex Zone 1/21 developed together with its German technology partner Imtradex at the PMR Expo in Cologne (Hall 8.1, Stand C018) from 26 to 28 November. With this new developed accessory, world market leader i.safe MOBILE offers its customers the ideal addition to PoC (Push-to-talk over Cellular) and lone worker protection applications in Zone 1/21. The IS-RSM3x.1 is available as a Bluetooth® and wired version and scores with its ergonomic design and innovative audio performance. The wired IS-RSM3A.1 is compatible with all mobile devices from i.safe MOBILE that have a 16-pin ISM interface (IS540.x, IS940.x, IS945.x). The wireless model IS-RSM3B.1 can be paired with all common mobile Bluetooth® devices such as industrial smartphones, tablets or radios and can therefore be used in hazardous industrial areas in zones 1/21.
Excellent audio performance
The IS-RSM3x.1 digital remote speaker microphone in the wired or Bluetooth® version is designed for robust use in Ex zones 1 and 21 and is equipped with a powerful loudspeaker (up to 103 dB). The microphones are positioned in a way that allows them to pick up voice input evenly from all directions. The combination of two microphones enables intelligent passive noise cancellation. In conjunction with the DSP controller (Digital Signal Processor), unwanted noise is minimised in real time, enabling clear communication in particularly noisy working environments. Digital signal processors process real audio signals such as speech, digitise and process them mathematically - disruptive background noise is actively suppressed.
User-optimised design
At 205 g, the RSM3x.1 is lightweight and has been developed with a focus on ergonomic design. The buttons are arranged in a user-friendly way and are easy to operate even when wearing gloves. The RSM can be attached to safety clothing using a clip included in the set. The programmable buttons (left side button e.g. for PTT, red button e.g. for SOS and up/down button e.g. for channel selection) extend the range of functions and are an ideal addition for PoC and lone worker protection applications.
The RSM3x.1 can be charged via a desktop charger. The 8-pin circular ISM interface also enables the connection of approved headsets in hazardous areas.
The device's replaceable battery (2200 mAh) is particularly easy to service. The integrated NFC chip enables quick and easy pairing for the RSM Bluetooth version.
Dirk Amann, CTO of i.safe MOBILE, comments: “We are excited to be able to present the new products developed together with our technology partner Imtradex to the trade public for the first time at PMR Expo. The two RSMs are an ideal addition to our product portfolio.”
“In close partnership, we have developed a future-proof platform that takes communication in harsh environments and in conjunction with PTToC applications to a new level”, says Benjamin Baier, Managing Director of Imtradex GmbH.
The IS-RSM3x.1 in the wired and Bluetooth version will be available from Q1 2025.
